So the Year 11s of Cempaka International School just had our Study Skills.
It's basically 2 days of motivation talks and talks on the right studying techniques for our upcoming IGCSE (which is 100 days away, starting from today).
Some of the lectures were alright, I suppose. I particularly enjoyed Dr. Rizal's talk where he used Dixit cards to illustrate his points.
But that was about it. Some talks by the guest speakers included religion (pray before your exams because everyone believes in God, etc). I personally think that should have been left out. Especially when you're talking to a general group of of people about studying. But I digress.
Praying to God wasn't one of them. Just saying.
We had to make a video with our group members regarding our given subject (chemistry). I was glad I was teamed with Dexter, Phoebe, Alena and Haris :) Not gonna elaborate much on it, but I think it's safe to say we did a fairly adequate job :P Considering our time limit and everything :/
One of the last things done for Study Skills was being shown the movie "Secret".
Lets just say I decided to utilize my time by reediting our video chemistry instead.
I'm going to have a separate post on this, so lets move on.
Getting ready for our group picture was great fun! Dr. Rizal had the idea of us forming an A*, and the process of doing so was hilarious!
We ended study skills with playing Ultimate Frisbee! :) I was anticipating for a water balloon fight, but I definitely didn't complain when I found out otherwise.
My team lost the first match, but it was good fun nonetheless. At least we won our second match :D I played a little bit of football in between, with Melanie, Lanee and Brent.
To quote Phoebe, "Playing frisbee with the whole of Year 11 was such a nice way to end study skills. Had so much fun!"
And before I forget, I'll have to create and adapt to a schedule REAL SOON!
I suppose I have relatively summed up Study Skills 2011! :)
p/s: I KNOW YOU GUYS LOVE ME FOR FINALLY UPDATING!
Random footnote: The food served during study skills was alright. I just wish they didn't serve them in such tiny portions -.-
